Brings Oracle AI to the pit wall to increase efficiency of sporting regulation reviews
Standardizes on Oracle Virtualization from the factory to the track to increase flexibility, streamline IT infrastructure, and simplify training
Oracle Red Bull Racing is enhancing its competitive edge by expanding the use of Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) and artificial intelligence (AI) for the 2025 Formula One season. This strategic collaboration aims to optimize race strategies, powertrain development, and fan engagement.
Leveraging OCI's new Compute A2 and A4 Flex shapes, Oracle Red Bull Racing has increased simulation speeds by 10%. This enhancement enables the team to conduct billions of simulations before and during races, allowing for rapid adaptation to varying car performances, track conditions, and competitor actions. Since adopting OCI in 2021, the team has achieved a 25% increase in simulation speed, providing a significant strategic advantage on race days.
In a pioneering move, Oracle is introducing generative AI (GenAI) to the pit wall. This technology allows the team to efficiently review thousands of pages of historical regulatory rulings in real-time, streamlining the process of lodging race protests within the stringent 30-minute post-race window. The GenAI solution, combining retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) with large language models (LLM), enhances the team's ability to adapt to sporting regulations during race weekends.
Red Bull Ford Powertrains, set to supply hybrid power units for the 2026 season, is utilizing OCI to develop next-generation sustainable fuel engines. By running complex simulations on OCI, the engineering team is optimizing performance and reliability as the powertrain progresses from prototype to production.
Starting this season, Oracle Red Bull Racing has standardized its infrastructure from factory to trackside using Oracle Virtualization, Oracle Linux, and Oracle Cloud Native Environment. This standardization increases flexibility, streamlines IT infrastructure, and simplifies training, ensuring seamless operations both on and off the track.
The Paddock, Oracle Red Bull Racing's fan engagement platform powered by Oracle CrowdTwist Loyalty and Engagement, has seen substantial growth since its 2021 debut. Now boasting hundreds of thousands of members across 156 countries, the platform leverages Oracle Fusion Cloud Customer Experience (CX) solutions to offer personalized content, user-generated material, and exclusive rewards, bringing fans closer to the team.
Through these technological advancements, Oracle Red Bull Racing continues to push the boundaries of performance, innovation, and fan interaction in the world of Formula One
